In the east of Issyk-Kul, water containing precious metal was found — it was transported to Switzerland and Saudi Arabia
The village elder, Zhenishbek Asanbaev, reported that the source "Kainar Bulak," which is about six kilometers away from the settlement, has undergone examination. The analysis revealed the presence of silver and 32 mineral elements. "I heard that studies of the source were already conducted during the Soviet era. In recent years, one of the local residents sent water samples for testing in Kara-Balta, and the results confirmed the presence of 32 minerals. We are currently developing a project for the construction of a bottling plant and are actively seeking an investor," Asanbaev said.
According to him, water samples were also sent to Kazakhstan, as well as to Saudi Arabia and Switzerland.
The authorized representative of the president in the region, Bakytbek Zhetigenov, has already familiarized himself with this initiative. He noted that if the issue of investment is not resolved, local authorities may consider establishing a small municipal enterprise.
Nevertheless, representatives of local self-government pointed out that significant investments would be required to open such an enterprise. In response, Zhetigenov emphasized that large investments are not necessary at the initial stage.
The Akim of the Ak-Suu district, Kanatbek Kaldaraliev, added that in the future, mineral water could be supplied to the "Ala-Tuu Resort" ski resort. "I conducted a survey and found out that many water brands at Issyk-Kul are brought from Bishkek. There is also a 120-meter well in the Pristan-Przhevalsk area, but its composition is still unknown," he said.
According to Zhetigenov, quality glass packaging will be required for supplies to the ski resort. Akim Kaldaraliev also noted that the production of bottled water has already begun near the "Zhyrgalan" resort.
In addition, a project has been announced for the construction of a large plant near the source in the village of Pioneer [Kara-Kyz], with an estimated cost of 3 million dollars.
In February 2025, Turmush reported that silver deposits were also found in the underground waters of the Jeti-Oguz district of the Issyk-Kul region. The chairman of the youth association "Chyrak," Zhanibek Dogdurbek uulu, noted that laboratory studies of the water located near the former grain storage on the outskirts of the village of Chyrak confirmed the presence of silver. At that time, it was noted that Chinese and Russian investors were interested in developing this deposit.
