The USA Recognized Kyrgyzstan's Leadership in the Field of Virtual Assets in Central Asia
During a recent meeting organized at the initiative of the United States, Farhat Iminov, head of the secretariat of the National Council for the Development of Virtual Assets and Blockchain Technologies of Kyrgyzstan, discussed current issues in this field with the U.S. Ambassador to the country, Leslie Viguerie.
Iminov presented the goals and objectives of the National Council and talked about the work of its executive body—the Secretariat.
According to him, the virtual asset market in Kyrgyzstan reached a volume of about 860 billion soms in the first half of 2025, indicating a transition to a phase of institutional growth.
Farhat Iminov also emphasized that the implementation of initiatives such as the introduction of a digital som and the tokenization of real assets, as well as improving the digital financial literacy of the population and enhancing legislation, will allow the country to take leading positions in the field of Web3 technologies.
Additionally, he noted that the Kyrgyzstani stablecoin KGST became the first among CIS countries to be listed on the international cryptocurrency platform Binance.
In accordance with the agreements reached during the meeting of Presidents Sadyr Japarov and Donald Trump in November 2025, Iminov identified the digital economy, artificial intelligence, and the IT sector as key areas of Kyrgyz-American cooperation.
The U.S. Ambassador noted that Kyrgyzstan is demonstrating impressive growth rates in the field of virtual assets, surpassing other Central Asian countries, and emphasized the significant potential for further growth.
In this context, there was an expression of interest in deepening cooperation with the Kyrgyz side, including the exchange of experience with relevant government agencies and companies in the U.S. on the development and regulation of virtual assets, as well as organizing specialized programs and training.
