A global review of technical regulation requirements is planned in the EAEU.
According to Morgunova, more than a decade of experience in applying these regulations has revealed the need for their update. This is due to both technological changes in the design, production, and disposal of products, as well as changes in market conditions. “Our safety, the health of children, and the state of the environment directly depend on how modern risks are taken into account in the regulations and how accurately the methods for assessing product safety indicators are defined,” she emphasized.
The work on technical regulation includes not only the development of new regulations but also the updating of existing ones. In 2025, the EEC Council implemented changes to several key regulations, including “On the Safety of Wheeled Vehicles” and “On the Safety of Perfume and Cosmetic Products.”
Elena Morgunova noted that recent changes in technical regulations often require quick adjustments. “In this regard, there is a need for a systematic and comprehensive review of all technical regulation requirements of the EAEU. The assessment of current regulations is scheduled for 2025-2030 and will cover 29 active regulations,” she added.
