IT industry of Kyrgyzstan: there is much to be proud of


Kazakhstani publications have noted the significant achievements of Kyrgyzstan's IT industry in 2025. This article presents the key events of the year, including government initiatives and successes on the international stage.

Main Achievements

In 2025, the focus was on developing IT infrastructure. In Bishkek, with the support of South Korea, a new IT hub is planned to open, which will promote startups, training specialists, and international cooperation. At the same time, the "Technopark" IT hub opened in the capital, becoming an important venue for the tech community and youth teams.

The Ministry of Digital Development of Kyrgyzstan announced the procurement of supercomputers to support artificial intelligence, which will help create a computing base for scientific research, government projects, and AI startups.

In 2025, the concept of "women's entrepreneurship" was introduced in the country, becoming part of the strategy to support inclusive business and engage women in the economy and tech sector. As part of this program, the official chapter of Women in Tech Kyrgyzstan was established, actively supporting women in technology and business, enhancing their participation in the startup ecosystem.

Financial technologies became one of the fastest-growing sectors of the year. Kyrgyzstan launched its first state cryptocurrency exchange - Coin National Exchange, marking a unique event for Central Asia.

A national stablecoin, KGST, was also introduced in collaboration with Binance, aimed at developing digital financial instruments and increasing the transparency of financial operations.

Additionally, Kyrgyzstan presented its first digital AI avatar in the Kyrgyz language, a significant step in developing localized technologies and digital services.

News from the World of IT Companies

The country concluded the final of the first wave of the global initiative She’s Next, Empowered by Visa, which involved over 7,000 women from across the country. In Bishkek, 20 finalists presented their projects on Pitch Day, and six of the best received grants to develop their businesses.

Eldik Bank became the owner of 100% of Beeline Kyrgyzstan's shares, a notable event in the market.
MBANK in Bishkek introduced an innovative technology called MPay, allowing purchases to be made from mobile phones without the need for an internet connection via Bluetooth.

O!Bank and Kaspi.kz launched a new service for cross-border QR payments, simplifying the payment for goods and services for citizens of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan without additional fees.

The company Tsarka Kyrgyzstan created a monitoring and response center for cyber threats, significantly enhancing the level of cybersecurity in the country.

Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan also launched direct money transfers between the payment systems "Elkart" and UZCARD, allowing users to transfer funds directly through mobile applications. Additionally, "Elkart" initiated mutual acquiring with the HUMO system, opening access to HUMO cards in Kyrgyzstan and "Elkart" in Uzbekistan.

Successes of IT Startups in 2025

The startup Alma entered the Google for Startups Cloud AI Accelerator program, gaining access to mentorship from Google experts and resources worth up to $350,000.
The startup also successfully completed a Series A funding round with a valuation of over $120 million and held the Alma Ascent competition for startups founded by immigrants.

The web version of the AI assistant AkylAI from The Cramer Project was released, offering chat and document handling features with seven professional profiles for users.

The ArtSkin project won the CASC-2025 for developing artificial skin for prosthetics and took fourth place at the TechCrunch Road 2 Battlefield.

The startup Loadex AI raised $1.5 million in funding through the Alcheimist accelerator to automate logistics processes.

Newnorm, founded by Alina Iiygilikova, is developing modular audio devices that can be used as headphones, speakers, and headsets, attracting investments and successfully completing European accelerators.

Mama Space, a MedTech platform supported by AI and pregnancy trackers, made it to the top 120 of the Aurora Tech Award and was recognized as the best women's startup at the Digital Startup Awards in Tashkent, receiving a prize of $10,000.

Major IT Events in the Country

2025 was filled with important IT and startup events. Bishkek hosted the anniversary hackathon "Startup Nation," the largest IT conference DevFest Bishkek 2025, and the most extensive hackathon from NASA.

On April 24-25, 2025, the Central Asia Startup CUP took place, the first regional forum for startups and investors, gathering over 700 participants to discuss venture investments, AI, FinTech, and women's entrepreneurship. As part of the event, a Startup Battle was held, where the Kyrgyz startup ArtSkin won, and Porte Tech reached the finals of the Startup World Cup. Several Kyrgyz startups received grants from the EU, and VoiceDiary plans to head to Silicon Valley.

The KIT Forum 2025 gathered over 3,000 participants and more than 60 speakers from ten countries, discussing topics related to artificial intelligence in various fields. At the KIT AWARDS 2025, the winners included the Kyrgyz State Technical University, Enji.AI, and BusinessGPT.

Kyrgyzstan also showcased its achievements on the international stage: the country's pavilion opened at Expo 2025 in Osaka, where technological innovations were demonstrated.

Bishkek became the venue for the first ETH Bishkek Hackathon, bringing together developers, designers, analysts, and Web3 enthusiasts to create innovative projects and share experiences.

The first cybersecurity conference CYBER KÜN 2025 focused on current cyber threats and security in the rapidly changing digital world.

Additionally, the VC Party event was held for the first time, gathering investors, business angels, executives, and startups to discuss opportunities and network.
