Paintings by Renoir, Cézanne, and Matisse stolen from a museum in Italy

The painting "Fish" by Pierre-Auguste Renoir
The stolen artworks include "Fish" by Pierre-Auguste Renoir, "Still Life with Cherries" by Paul Cézanne, and "Odalisque on the Terrace" by Henri Matisse.

According to police information, the criminals were masked and consisted of four individuals. They broke the entrance door, entered the hall on the first floor, and escaped with the stolen paintings through the museum's garden.

The robbery took the thieves less than three minutes. According to law enforcement, the operation was carefully planned.

As reported by Italian media, the theft may have been thwarted by an alarm: the fourth painting, which was likely intended to be stolen, remained in place.

Currently, law enforcement agencies are analyzing footage from the surveillance cameras both inside the museum and in its vicinity.

The Villa dei Capolavori, home to the Manianni-Rocca Foundation
The Manianni-Rocca Foundation, established in 1977, is located 20 kilometers from Parma and houses a collection of art historian Luigi Manianni, which also includes works by masters such as Dürer, Rubens, Van Dyck, Goya, and Monet.

This robbery is part of a broader wave of art-related crimes.

Last October, criminals entered the Louvre in Paris during the day and stole jewelry worth $100 million.

The theft at the Louvre took the criminals less than eight minutes, and they also acted according to a pre-prepared plan. As a result, they managed to steal eight items — tiaras, earrings, necklaces, and brooches, all from the 19th century and previously belonging to French royal families.

Several suspects have been detained; however, the whereabouts of the stolen items remain unknown.
