Maduro and his wife wrote a message from an American prison
In their address, they noted that they have received numerous "messages, letters, and prayers" that give them strength. They also called for the preservation of peace, the strengthening of national unity, and the importance of dialogue.
"Do not let anyone stray from the path of dialogue, coexistence, and respect — this is the way to our Homeland and the common good," their post stated. Comments on this message are closed.
According to information, Maduro and his wife are in a detention center in Brooklyn, awaiting trial on charges of drug trafficking and other crimes.
It is worth noting that before International Women's Day on March 8, Maduro's address, published by his son, had already appeared on social media. That message also contained calls for Venezuelans to maintain hope and confidence that the country will overcome all difficulties.
Recall that on January 3, an operation was carried out in the U.S. to arrest Nicolás Maduro. His wife, Cilia Flores, was also arrested. On January 5, they will appear before a federal court in New York, where they did not plead guilty. Currently, Venezuela is led by Delcy Rodríguez, appointed as acting president, who previously held the position of vice president.
