In their message, which was voiced on behalf of Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores, they expressed gratitude to the citizens for their support and solidarity. “We have received your letters, messages, and prayers. Every kind word from you gives us strength and strengthens our spirit. We feel fine, remain resilient and calm,” the address states.
The president also called for strengthening peace, national unity, and dialogue, emphasizing the need for reconciliation and mutual respect for Venezuela.
It was previously reported that Maduro is in the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, and the conditions of his detention imply almost complete isolation.
Additionally, he declared the illegality of his detention and called for information about himself to be conveyed to his family and other Venezuelan prisoners.
