Yemeni Houthis Officially Enter the War on Iran's Side
On the eve of this incident, the Houthis declared their intention to intervene in the conflict on the side of Iran if the situation continues to escalate. Later, they confirmed that they attacked Israeli military facilities, labeling them as "sensitive."
As reported by the Associated Press, the area of Be'er Sheva, located near the Israeli nuclear center in Dimona, was targeted. Reuters emphasizes that the official entry of the Houthis into the conflict could increase the likelihood of further escalation of the war in the region.
Western media also point out that the involvement of the Houthis may threaten safe navigation in the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait and the Red Sea. During previous conflicts with Hamas, the Houthis had already carried out attacks on commercial vessels in this strategically important area, creating additional complications for maritime transport.
