The U.S. may send another 10,000 soldiers to the Middle East, - The Wall Street Journal

According to information published by The Wall Street Journal and Axios, the Pentagon plans to soon send up to 10,000 additional ground troops to the Middle East. This information comes from sources within the U.S. Department of Defense.
It is expected that the new forces, which will include infantry and armored vehicles, will join the already deployed 5,000 Marines and paratroopers from the 82nd Airborne Division in the region. This will give President Donald Trump more options for military action, despite ongoing negotiations with Iran.

The exact location where the troops will be deployed has not yet been determined. However, WSJ suggests that they may be stationed near the Iranian border and the island of Khark, through which 90% of Iran's oil is exported.

According to Axios, a final decision may be made next week. At the same time, the Pentagon is developing military scenarios that could include ground operations and intensive bombing if necessary.

So far, the U.S. president has not made a decision to implement any of the existing plans. Nevertheless, sources claim that he is prepared for escalation if negotiations with Tehran do not yield significant results in the near future.
