A tragedy occurred in central Bangladesh: a passenger bus fell into the Padma River, claiming the lives of at least 18 people. This was reported by Kazinform, citing information from TASS and The Daily Star newspaper.
According to local sources, the bus was on a pontoon waiting to board the ferry when the incident occurred. At the time of the accident, there were about 40 people in the vehicle, of whom 11 managed to reach the shore on their own.
Rescue operations were completed six hours after the incident when the bus was raised from the bottom of the river. As a result, the bodies of 18 deceased were found, and several passengers are still reported missing.
