As part of this project, it is planned to cover seven regions of the country, affecting about 6.5 million citizens. Currently, special loudspeakers have already been installed on the minarets of 272 mosques located in the Fergana, Jizzakh, Kashkadarya, Namangan, Samarkand, Syrdarya, and Tashkent regions.
These systems are placed in mosques that are in close proximity to residential areas. They provide the transmission of emergency messages through loudspeakers installed both on the minarets and on the facades of buildings. The sound signals will be audible from a distance of 500 to 2000 meters, allowing residents both outside and inside buildings to hear important alerts.
One of the key advantages of the new technology is its resilience to failures: messages will be transmitted even in the event of mobile network and electricity outages.
The initiative is funded by the Green Climate Fund.
