On the morning of February 28, Israel and the US struck Iran. Donald Trump announced the intention to destroy the nuclear program of the Islamic Republic.

In response, Iran began striking Israel and other countries in the Middle East where US military bases and facilities are located. The strikes were directed at Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Abu Dhabi, and Dubai (UAE), as well as Riyadh (Saudi Arabia).

As a result of the US-Israeli attack, Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed, and soon after, his wife, Mansure Khodjasteh, died from her injuries.

Donald Trump stated that military actions in Iran would continue for about four weeks. Iran, in response, declared jihad against the US and Israel, stating that there would be no negotiations.

The conflict in the Middle East is impacting global processes, including in Kyrgyzstan. Currently, thousands of tourists are stranded due to the situation in the UAE. Contact details for embassies and consulates for citizens of Kyrgyzstan abroad are available here.
