According to the new rules, foreigners who have served in the Armed Forces of Russia and committed an offense may face punishment in the form of compulsory labor, with a duration of 100 to 200 hours, or an administrative fine.

In the case of violating spectator behavior rules at official sporting events, such individuals may face a ban on attending sporting events for a period of one year to seven years.

Support for the initiative was expressed in the State Duma on March 11, and on March 18, the bill received approval in the Federation Council.

Earlier, in early March, Putin signed a law that prohibits the expulsion of foreign citizens who are serving or have served in the Russian armed forces outside the country.

Foreigners were granted the right to sign contracts for service in the Russian army in November 2022, and stateless persons were granted this right in July of last year.
