Two residential buildings collapsed in the center of Istanbul
Governor of Istanbul, Davut Gül, reported that nine people remain trapped under the rubble. Seven of them have been taken to medical facilities, and one more was rescued later. The search for the last person is ongoing. TRT adds that the condition of those rescued is not considered critical.
Local media note that the buildings were very close to each other, and the explosion in one of them caused a domino effect, leading to the collapse of the neighboring building. Rescue operations are continuing, although access to the site is complicated due to narrow streets and dense urban development.
