Kazakhstan has sent a trade mission to Mongolia, the first in seven years

Kazakhstan is once again activating its presence in the Mongolian market by sending its first trade mission in seven years, reports MiddleAsianNews, citing data from the Ministry of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan.

On March 18, a delegation led by Deputy Minister of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan Aizhan Adilovna Bizhanova visited the "Talyn Mongolia" factory, which is capable of processing up to 100 tons of products per day.

During the visit, Kazakhstan actively participated in strengthening export positions and creating a favorable business environment, as well as discussing opportunities to enhance the level of foreign economic cooperation. This cooperation is aimed at long-term partnerships focused on expanding market opportunities and stable business growth.

The "Talyn Mongolia" brand successfully exports its products to countries such as Russia, Turkey, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan, and is also beginning to strengthen its position on the international stage.

The "Talyn Mongolia" factory, which employs robotic technologies, is capable of processing 100 tons of products daily, significantly reducing the need for manual labor. Additionally, the implementation of an automated accounting system helps avoid duplication and errors in calculations, ensuring a more organized and accurate financial reporting process.

The trade mission is taking place in Ulaanbaatar and is organized jointly by the Ministry of Trade and Integration and the national company QazTrade. The delegation includes representatives of Kazakh export companies operating in various sectors, including agribusiness, pharmaceuticals, and manufacturing.

QazTrade conducted market research and identified potential areas for cooperation. The delegation includes producers of food products, building materials, and medical equipment.

"Although at first glance the Mongolian market may seem small, such markets are becoming a priority for Kazakhstan. Developed logistics play an important role here. Kazakhstan is also capable of meeting Mongolia's key needs in areas such as food, construction, fuel, and machine engineering," the ministry's press release notes.

As of the end of 2025, it is expected that trade turnover between the two countries will exceed 133 million dollars, of which 123 million dollars will be Kazakh exports. It is anticipated that in the medium term, trade volume could grow nearly fourfold, reaching 500 million dollars.

About 90% of Kazakh exports to Mongolia consist of finished products: flour, grain, oils, confectionery, and beverages, as well as building materials, metals, and fuel. There is also a constant demand for mining equipment, chemical products, and packaging.

"Kazakhstan has significant advantages in grain processing and export. In 2025, a record harvest of 27.1 million tons was recorded.

Mongolia, in turn, has a developed livestock sector, which creates opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation — from raw material supplies to joint processing and entry into third markets," the ministry added.
