Kazakhstan has imposed restrictions on the import and transit of animals from the Russian Federation due to a complicated epizootic situation, - Ministry of Agriculture

The situation has worsened due to an outbreak of pasteurellosis in Siberia, which forced Kazakhstan to introduce temporary bans on the import and export of livestock and meat products from regions such as Altai, the North Caucasus Federal District (including Dagestan, Ingushetia, Kabardino-Balkaria, Karachay-Cherkessia, North Ossetia, Chechnya, and Stavropol Krai), as well as from Kalmykia, Buryatia, Astrakhan, and Novosibirsk regions.
The situation with the spread of diseases among domestic animals in Siberia has led to mass culling of livestock, and a state of emergency has been declared in Novosibirsk region and some areas of Chuvashia due to outbreaks of pasteurellosis and rabies. Sergey Dankvert, head of the Rosselkhoznadzor, has headed a government commission sent to Novosibirsk region and noted that the situation with diseases in domestic animals is under control, although the previously studied disease has begun to mutate and exhibits unusual forms.
