Ali Larijani
In connection with the loss of Larijani, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian expressed his condolences, stating his "deep sorrow and regret" over his death.
According to Pezeshkian, "he always demonstrated kindness, insight, camaraderie, and foresight... This loss will be extremely difficult to compensate." The president also noted that the country will continue to follow its path of defiance, emphasizing the significance of Larijani's years of service.
On the night of March 18, Larijani's office confirmed the information about his death, which occurred as a result of an attack. According to the Tasnim agency, one of his sons and the head of security also died in the incident. The Israeli Ministry of Defense reported that they became victims of IDF actions.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps responded to Larijani's death with massive strikes on Israel, claiming to have hit over 100 targets in Tel Aviv, including military facilities. The total enemy losses were estimated at more than 230 people. The strikes also affected Jerusalem, Haifa, Beersheba, and the Negev region, while American military bases in Qatar, Bahrain, the UAE, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia were also targeted.
