During trading on March 16, there was a noticeable increase in prices for gasoline and diesel fuel on the St. Petersburg exchange, marking the highest level since the beginning of the year. According to information from Lenta.ru, the price of A-92 gasoline rose by 2.02% and now costs 66,514 rubles per ton. A-95 gasoline increased by 1.63%, reaching 70,074 rubles, while summer diesel fuel went up by 1.84%, amounting to 64,619 rubles. These values were last recorded in October of last year, and since the beginning of the year, price increases have exceeded 15%.
Market participants forecast that the cost of summer diesel fuel may significantly rise due to the delayed spring and upcoming scheduled repairs at oil refineries (OR). Additionally, there is a threat from potential drone attacks, which could negatively impact supply.
Furthermore, Russian companies have increased diesel fuel exports to Brazil, doubling the supply volumes. In February, against the backdrop of the European Union's ban on the import of petroleum products made from Russian oil, exports to South America amounted to 680,000 tons, which is 68% more compared to the same period last year.
