According to the Turkish Ministry of Defense, on March 13, NATO air defense forces successfully intercepted another ballistic missile launched from Iran. This event occurred against the backdrop of two similar incidents that took place on March 4 and 9, when missiles were also neutralized over Turkish territory. Details were reported by Anadolu and Reuters.

As noted in the military department's statement, the missile was destroyed by NATO air defense forces located in the Eastern Mediterranean. Turkish authorities emphasize their readiness to take all necessary measures in response to any threats directed against the territory and airspace of the country.

Additionally, Turkey is negotiating with Iran to clarify the circumstances of the incident. Reuters adds that Ankara is seeking to avoid involvement in a broader conflict related to Iran.

Some Turkish media, including Savunma Sanayi, reported that the target of the missile could have been the Incirlik Air Base located in Adana; however, there has been no official confirmation from the Turkish Ministry of Defense. At the same time, Anadolu noted that sirens were heard in the vicinity of the base.
