Since the beginning of March, wholesale prices for automotive fuel in Russia have continued to rise.
Based on an analysis conducted by the Wroom.ru website, data from the St. Petersburg Exchange were examined, comparing wholesale prices for gasoline and diesel fuel recorded on February 27 and March 11. Over the period of one and a half weeks, gasoline prices increased by 6-7%, while diesel fuel rose by 12%.
As of March 11, 2026, the wholesale prices per ton of fuel (changes compared to February 27, 2026) are:
- AI-92 gasoline — 62,943 rubles (+6.2%)
- AI-95 gasoline — 66,876 rubles (+6.7%)
- interseason diesel fuel — 61,526 rubles (+12.2%)
Experts link the rise in automotive fuel prices to the increase in global oil prices, which is caused by armed conflicts in the Middle East. It is expected that further increases in wholesale prices for gasoline and diesel fuel will ultimately affect retail prices at gas stations.
In the second half of last year, some Russian regions experienced disruptions in the supply of automotive fuel; however, these problems have gradually been resolved.
