According to the Lebanese television channel Al Mayadeen, Iran is demanding that the U.S. meet three conditions for the resumption of negotiations. In particular, Tehran insists on guarantees that military actions will not resume, recognition of the country's right to a full nuclear fuel cycle, and compensation payments. These demands are also mentioned in other sources referencing Al Mayadeen.

Similar statements were previously made by Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, who stated in July 2025 that Tehran is ready to resume nuclear negotiations with the U.S. only if reliable guarantees against new attacks are provided. At that time, Reuters reported that Iran does not intend to abandon uranium enrichment and considers ensuring security an important condition for starting dialogue.

In the current situation, negotiations between Washington and Tehran remain in question. As reported by Reuters, following U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iranian facilities, the Iranian parliament stated that negotiations with Washington will not resume until preliminary demands are met.
