North Korea conducted tests of missile launchers for a new destroyer

During the tests, the missiles successfully hit their designated targets, flying along a specified trajectory over the Korean West Sea (known in North Korea as the Yellow Sea) for 10,116 to 10,138 seconds, which is almost two hours and 49 minutes, as stated in the official report.

Kim Jong Un expressed satisfaction with the results of the tests, noting the reliability of the strategic weapons command system and the combat effectiveness of the ship. He also instructed to reconsider the armament composition for the third destroyer of this series, taking military practice into account.

The head of state emphasized that it is preferable to equip fast ships with a displacement of up to 3,000 tons with automatic artillery systems, while for destroyers weighing 5,000 and 8,000 tons, it is advisable to install supersonic missiles instead of deck artillery systems. In his opinion, this will enhance the capabilities for anti-ship and strategic strikes.

Additionally, Kim Jong Un ordered to expedite the transfer of the destroyer to the Navy and complete the construction of the third ship by the party's anniversary this year, as well as to strengthen and modernize the infrastructure of naval bases.

The Yonhap agency reports that these missile tests coincided with the start of the annual spring military exercises of South Korea and the United States.
