Trump stated that if Iran takes any actions that impede the free flow of oil through the Strait of Hormuz, the U.S. will strike with twenty times more destructive force than before. He expressed confidence that Washington would destroy "easily destructible targets," making the restoration of Iran as a state virtually impossible.
“Death, fire, and fury will reign over them. But I hope it doesn’t come to that!” Trump emphasized in his post on the social network Truth Social.
The president added that his warning is a "gift" to China and other countries that are heavily dependent on the Strait of Hormuz.
In response to these threats, General Sardar Naeini, a representative of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), stated that Iran will not allow "a single liter of oil" to be exported from the region, as reported by Tasnim.
Naeini noted that all attempts by the U.S. to control oil and gas prices will prove temporary and useless.
He also added that the right to decide on ending the conflict belongs to Iran, and that Trump does not want the American people to know that U.S. military infrastructure in the Persian Gulf has been destroyed. “Almost 10 modern U.S. radars have been destroyed, and many expensive drones have also been shot down by Iranian air defense,” Naeini said.
Recently, Trump expressed the opposite opinion, claiming that Iran no longer has "a fleet, communications, or air forces," and that the war in Iran is "almost over."
