In his message, Rahmon expressed confidence that under the leadership of the new leader, the people of Iran will be able to overcome all existing difficulties faced by a country that has friendly ties with Tajikistan.
The president noted the significance of Iran's constructive role in ensuring stability and peace both in the region and on the global stage, reaffirming commitment to the principles of international law in interstate relations.
Emomali Rahmon also emphasized Tajikistan's readiness to further strengthen and expand mutually beneficial cooperation with Iran, based on the principles of trust and respect.
The new Supreme Leader of Iran, Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei, was elected on March 9. He became the third leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran and was described as "a well-educated theologian and a young thinker," possessing deep knowledge in political and social issues.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of Iran pledged allegiance to the new leader and expressed readiness to follow his directives.
According to information from the official representative of the Guardian Council of the Constitution of Iran, Hadi Tahan Nazif, the temporary council that was established after the death of Ali Khamenei has ceased its operations. The temporary council included the President of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, the head of the judiciary, Gholam-Hossein Mohseni-Ejei, and a member of the Guardian Council of the Constitution, Alireza Arafi.
