The heads of the foreign ministries of the CSTO discussed the situation in the Middle East and adopted a joint statement

The text of this statement was made public by the Secretary General of the organization, Kubanychbek Omuraliev.

At the meeting held on March 7, the ministers discussed both regional and global events, including ongoing armed conflicts and recent escalations of military actions in neighboring areas, which are causing significant human suffering and humanitarian issues.

The ministers expressed their concern over the rise of violence in the Middle East and condemned all actions that threaten the lives of civilians and undermine the stability of the region.

They noted that any security threats to the member states of the CSTO affect the interests of the entire organization, calling for adherence to the principles of sovereignty and territorial integrity.

In their statement, the ministers strongly condemned the attacks on Turkey and Azerbaijan, including strikes on civilian infrastructure carried out from neighboring territories. They called for the prevention of such actions, as they exacerbate the regional situation and create the risk of conflict escalation.

The ministers reaffirmed their support for the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and security of both countries, expressing full solidarity with their peoples and governments.

They emphasized the importance of resolving disputes peacefully through dialogue, based on international law and the principles of the UN Charter. The ministers noted that diplomacy and constructive dialogue are the only paths to de-escalation, cessation of hostilities, and peaceful settlement, urging the parties to exercise restraint and good faith in negotiations.

The joint statement also highlights the global consequences of the crisis. Long-term instability in this strategically important region poses risks to international peace and security, including potential disruptions in energy markets, trade routes, food security, and migration flows.

The ministers expressed their commitment to a fair and sustainable resolution of the Palestinian conflict, based on the two-state principle in accordance with UN resolutions, as well as their intention to continue cooperation on international platforms to achieve this solution and provide humanitarian assistance, especially in Gaza.

Reaffirming their commitments under the UN Charter and international law, the ministers expressed the CSTO's readiness to support any sincere international efforts aimed at restoring peace and stability in the region.

They agreed to continue to closely monitor the situation and maintain close coordination within the CSTO on issues of common interest. The ministers clearly stated their support for peace, dialogue, and stability.
