At the summit in Florida, President Trump emphasized that after resolving issues with Iran, the United States can turn its attention to Cuba. "We expect significant changes in Cuba, which is essentially living out its last days in its current state. But for now, all forces are focused on Iran," he said.

According to the president, the possibility of reaching an agreement with Cuba seems quite realistic.

At the end of February, Trump mentioned that Washington is conducting high-level negotiations with Havana and does not rule out a "friendly" takeover of Cuba.

"They have no resources. Right now, they have nothing. But they are communicating with us, and perhaps we can achieve a friendly annexation of Cuba," he added.

Trump also characterized Cuba as a "failed nation" that needs support from the United States.

Since 1962, the U.S. has maintained a strict trade embargo against Cuba, which was imposed after the failed attempt to invade the island in 1961.
