This statement by the president was his first public comment since the onset of the conflict in the Middle East. The information was reported by Abu Dhabi TV and the Emirates News Agency, as noted by DW.

The Sheikh emphasized the importance of the UAE Armed Forces during the current events and expressed gratitude to them for their service to the country. He also highlighted the significance of foreign nationals residing in the Emirates.

“We are in a state of war, and I promise that we will fulfill our duty. This situation has been imposed on us, and we are acting to protect ourselves and our families,” added Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Additionally, the president visited the wounded who were affected by the attacks from Iran, including two UAE citizens and citizens from India, Sudan, and Iran. He stressed that caring for the victims is the responsibility of the state.

The Sheikh also noted that despite the attractiveness and beauty of the UAE, the country is resilient and invulnerable. “We have thick skin and bitter flesh; we cannot be consumed. We are not easy prey,” he said.

On February 28, the USA and Israel launched a military operation against Iran, to which Tehran responded with strikes on American facilities in allied countries in the Middle East.

The UAE was among those affected. Although the attacks were aimed at military targets, civilian infrastructure also suffered damage, with reports of hits on the Burj Al Arab hotel in Dubai and Iranian drones falling near the Burj Khalifa skyscraper and on Palm Jumeirah.

On the morning of March 7, the Iranian Navy launched a significant drone strike on American facilities in the UAE and Kuwait, including the Al Minhad base in Abu Dhabi and the Al Adiri camp in Kuwait. The airport in Dubai was also attacked.
