Iran has issued a demand to Middle Eastern countries
He also added that Iran is prepared to respond to the continuation of "aggression" with attacks on American military bases in the region.
The Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf, emphasized that peace in the Middle East is impossible as long as American military facilities are present in the region. "These bases have become a platform for operations against Iran. A response will be given at the place of the attack. Without the removal of American bases in the region, peace cannot be achieved. This opinion is shared by all Iranian leaders and the people," he stated.
The President of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, also noted that Tehran seeks to maintain good neighborly relations with the states in the region, where retaliatory strikes have previously been directed against U.S. and Israeli attacks.
According to him, "Iran has always emphasized the importance of friendly relations with neighbors, based on mutual respect and the observance of sovereignty." He also clarified that Iranian "defensive operations" are aimed at the sources of aggression against the country and are considered "legitimate targets."
Furthermore, Pezeshkian added that Tehran does not intend to attack neighboring states if threats do not emanate from their territory. He also expressed regret for the states that have been struck by Iran in response to the actions of the U.S. and Israel.
