As a result of a recent airstrike, Dubai International Airport (DXB) has temporarily suspended operations, as reported by representatives of the facility.

According to eyewitness accounts, a drone attacked the airport area. Video footage that has surfaced online shows the moment of impact, after which significant smoke is seen rising in the vicinity of the air hub. It is reported that debris may have landed near Terminal 2.

Emirate authorities promptly addressed the aftermath of the incident.

The airport also confirmed that operations were suspended in the interest of safety.

"In order to protect passengers, staff, and airline crews, Dubai International Airport is temporarily closed. All actions are being carried out in accordance with existing safety protocols," the official statement said.

Earlier, the Ministry of Defense of the United Arab Emirates reported an attempt to repel an airstrike carried out by Iran using missiles and drones.
