Tokayev
President Tokayev expressed his strong condemnation regarding the incident, which he considers an aggressive act against Azerbaijan, a partner of Kazakhstan.
He emphasized the need for a joint and comprehensive investigation involving Iran to clarify all the circumstances of the incident. Additionally, Tokayev noted the importance of a diplomatic approach to resolve the situation that has arisen, in order to avoid further escalation of tensions in the region.
According to available information, the drones were allegedly launched from Iranian territory and fell on the ground of Nakhchivan airport. The Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that as a result of the incident, airport buildings were damaged, and several civilians were injured.
Meanwhile, Iran denied the accusations of launching drones towards Azerbaijan. The General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces suggested that such incidents could have been organized by Israel with the aim of worsening relations between Muslim states.
