Politico: US operation in Iran may last at least 100 days, or even extend until September

According to information published by Politico, the Central Command of the U.S. Armed Forces has requested the Pentagon to send additional military intelligence personnel to its headquarters in Florida. This initiative aims to provide support for operations against Iran for at least 100 days, with a possible extension until September.
This decision indicates that the Department of Defense is already beginning to allocate funding for operations that may extend far beyond the initially planned four-week period set by Donald Trump.
Additionally, the Pentagon is considering increasing the supply of air defense systems to the region, focusing on compact and cost-effective drone combat systems that have been developed in recent years, as reported by one U.S. official.

The publication emphasizes that the Trump administration did not fully grasp the extensive consequences of a conflict with Iran. Another sign of this is that the State Department is allocating additional resources for the evacuation of diplomatic personnel from Middle Eastern countries. As noted by a source in the State Department, the leadership of the agency has taken over the management of the evacuation process, which is traditionally carried out by consulate and bureau staff.

On February 28, a joint strike by Israel and the U.S. against Iran took place. Tehran, in turn, responded with an attack on Israeli and American military bases located in the Persian Gulf. On March 3, U.S. President Donald Trump stated that the country is ready for "eternal war" and noted that it is already too late to negotiate with Iran. In response, Iranian authorities expressed their readiness to confront the U.S. and Israel "for as long as necessary." According to Tehran, the number of U.S. military casualties has already exceeded 500.
