
Since its launch in 2007, the JENESYS program has been successfully operating in Mongolia. During this time, about 1300 young people from this country have participated in the project. In particular, 53 Mongolian youth visited Japan from February 18 to 25, 2025.
The JENESYS project was launched in several phases, including JENESYS and JENESYS 2.0, and each year, 50 to 90 youth representatives from Mongolia are invited to Japan.
JENESYS (Japan-East Asia Network of Exchange for Students and Youths) is a cultural exchange initiative organized by the Japanese government for the youth of Mongolia and countries in the Asia-Pacific region.
Program goal: To invite youth who can become future leaders to Japan and strengthen mutual understanding through exposure to the economic, social, historical, and cultural aspects of the country.
Who participates: Mainly high school students, university students, and young professionals.
What the program includes: Participants visit Japanese universities and enterprises, explore cultural heritage sites, modern technology centers, and have the opportunity to live with Japanese families.
