President Donald Trump made a statement that, if necessary, the American naval forces may begin to escort tankers through the Strait of Hormuz. He posted this message on his account on the Truth Social platform here.
Trump also added that he instructed the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation to provide political risk insurance and guarantees of financial security for maritime trade in the Persian Gulf region at a "very reasonable price."
He noted that such services will be available to all shipping companies. Trump emphasized: "If the need arises, the U.S. Navy will begin to escort tankers through the Strait of Hormuz."
