The resolution on World Horse Day, initiated by President Khurelsukh Ukhna, was discussed and approved at the 79th session of the UN General Assembly.

This year, for the first time, World Horse Day will be officially celebrated from July 11 to 13. During these days, various events aimed at promoting equestrian heritage are planned, including exhibitions and conferences dedicated to nomadic culture and environmental development issues.

Plans also include the creation of an official logo, slogan, and brand book for World Horse Day, as well as cultural and artistic events to promote the event on the international stage. It is expected that around 10,000 riders from 56 countries will participate in the parade dedicated to this event, and the budget for the event will be finalized in the coming days.

On March 2, during discussions on amendments to the capital's budget for 2026, it was announced that ₮4.5 billion (approximately $1 million 263 thousand) would be allocated for World Horse Day. As part of the celebration, it is planned to create an equestrian cultural complex and four veterinary centers for horses.
