According to information, 32-year-old Jared Lamado, a resident of McLean, Virginia, was on duty at the State Department during the tragic incident.
Lamado was shot by a police officer who acted in self-defense. Reports indicate that the incident took place on March 1 on a road near Washington.
After the traffic accident, Lamado stabbed four people. Unfortunately, a 39-year-old woman died from her injuries, while three others with serious injuries were hospitalized.
The State Department confirmed that one of their employees was involved in this incident. It was revealed that Lamado had been working at the department since September 2024 and held the position of an information technology specialist.
The police noted that they do not consider the incident a terrorist act and continue to investigate all circumstances of the case.
