Trump's Special Envoy: Iranian Negotiators Told the US They Have Enough Enriched Uranium to Create 11 Nuclear Bombs

Steve Witkoff
In his interview, Witkoff stated that at the first meeting, Iranian negotiators openly declared the presence of 460 kilograms of uranium enriched to 60%. They insisted that this amount was sufficient to create 11 nuclear warheads. “This was said without the slightest embarrassment,” he noted, referring to The Times of Israel.

According to Witkoff, the Iranian delegates expressed pride in their ability to circumvent various control protocols, which allowed them to be in such a situation.

Furthermore, Trump's representative added that during these negotiations, the Iranians claimed they had an "inalienable right" to enrich uranium. To this, Witkoff responded that the US president believes they also have an "inalienable right" to stop Iran.

Witkoff also emphasized that the US aimed to reach a "fair deal" with Iran. “We came with the intention of achieving a fair agreement, and by the end of the second round, it became clear that this was impossible. Nevertheless, we returned for a third meeting to give them one last opportunity,” he concluded.

On February 28, the US and Israel began military actions against Iran after negotiations on the Iranian nuclear program. Washington insisted that Tehran halt its nuclear weapons development. The last, third round of negotiations took place in Geneva on February 26.
