On February 26, 2026, the first political consultative meeting organized by the foreign ministries of Mongolia and Indonesia took place in Jakarta. This was reported by the official Facebook page of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The meeting discussed issues related to the bilateral relations between Mongolia and Indonesia, upcoming high-level visits, and events dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. Both sides confirmed their commitment to developing cooperation.

The parties agreed on the need for further work on simplifying visa conditions for citizens of both countries, discussed the possibilities of a visa-free regime, as well as cooperation in the fields of education, cultural exchange, tourism, and strengthening ties between the peoples. The topic of expanding trade and economic cooperation and organizing direct flights was also addressed.
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia Amartüvshin Gombosüren and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia Arrmanata Nasir were appointed co-chairs of this meeting.
