Smoke rises over Dahia, a southern suburb of Beirut, Lebanon, following Israeli airstrikes.
The Israeli army has launched simultaneous attacks on Tehran and Beirut, as reported by the IDF press service on its Telegram channel. The publication claims that "the Air Force has initiated large-scale operations against the terrorist regime of Iran and the Hezbollah organization."
On the night of March 3, Israeli military forces reported already striking Beirut, targeting command structures and weapons depots of Hezbollah. In response, the group condemned the "ongoing aggression against Lebanon," stating that such aggression would not go unanswered.
According to information from "Al-Mayadeen," among the targets of the Israeli strikes were the offices of the Al-Manar TV channel and the Al-Nour radio station. However, Al-Manar continued its broadcasting.
Later, the IDF reported that Lebanon fired five rockets into Israeli territory. Some of them were intercepted by air defense systems, while the others fell in open areas, as stated in the Israel Defense Forces' announcement, reported by the Times of Israel.
The Chief of Staff of the Israel Defense Forces, Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir, previously announced the start of a military operation against Hezbollah in Lebanon, emphasizing the need to prepare for prolonged battles.
