
During the meeting, as reported by the TurkPA secretariat, the Secretary General emphasized the importance of constitutional reforms being carried out in Kazakhstan, highlighting that they hold significant importance not only for the country but for the entire Turkic world. He also announced TurkPA's intention to participate in monitoring the upcoming constitutional referendum, which will take place in three cities — Astana, Almaty, and Turkestan.
Ramil Hasan also spoke about the recent trip of the TurkPA delegation to Vienna, where the 25th Winter Session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly was held. He noted that during this trip, negotiations were held with national delegations from Turkic countries, and the application procedure for obtaining observer status at the OSCE PA was successfully completed.
Aigul Kuspan, in turn, shared plans to change Kazakhstan's parliamentary system, expressing confidence that the new measures would enhance the accountability and effectiveness of the parliament's work.
She also noted that the participation of TurkPA and representatives of member countries as international observers in the constitutional reform process would be an important contribution to ensuring the transparency and openness of this process.
Additionally, the parties discussed the need to complete work on improving TurkPA's legal documents under Kazakhstan's chairmanship and emphasized the significance of the informal meeting of the heads of parliaments of TurkPA member countries, scheduled for April in Istanbul.
