Ukraine will help shoot down Iranian drones
Starmer added that British military aircraft are already engaged in defensive operations, intercepting Iranian attacks. He emphasized the need to destroy missiles at their storage and launch sites to effectively combat the threat.
“The U.S. requested to use our bases for this specific and limited defensive task. We decided to grant this request,” he noted.
At the same time, Starmer stressed that Britain is not involved in offensive actions but continues its defensive activities in the region.
Additionally, London plans to involve Ukrainian experts to assist the countries of the Persian Gulf in combating Iranian drones.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed Kyiv's readiness to share its experience in countering missile and drone attacks, noting that even countries with advanced air defense systems face difficulties in protection.
“We are ready to share our experience and help those nations that supported Ukraine,” he added.
It is worth recalling that on February 28, the U.S. and Israel launched a large-scale military operation against Iran, resulting in reports of the death of Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and several high-ranking military officials.
In response, Iran attacked Israel and facilities in the Persian Gulf where U.S. troops are located, and announced the establishment of a transitional governing body following Khamenei's death.
