After the strikes on facilities in Iran that occurred on February 28, Iran responded by launching missile strikes on American military bases in the region. According to reports from global media, these actions were directed against American facilities located in countries such as Iraq, Syria, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, and the United Arab Emirates, where US forces are stationed. Iranian authorities emphasized that they consider these facilities as legitimate targets for retaliation.

UN Secretary-General António Guterres called for an immediate de-escalation of tensions, warning of the risks of a broader conflict in the region. He noted that the use of force and retaliatory measures threaten international security and endanger civilian populations. In this regard, the UN Security Council is holding emergency meetings to discuss the situation.

Russia sharply condemned the actions of the US and Israel, calling them an aggressive and unprovoked act against a sovereign state. Moscow expressed concerns about potential humanitarian and radiological consequences and offered assistance in peacefully resolving the conflict.

The European Union also expressed deep concern over the current events and urged all parties to exercise restraint, protect civilians, and adhere to international norms.

France, Germany, and the United Kingdom issued a joint statement calling for diplomatic efforts to achieve stability in the region. French President Emmanuel Macron emphasized the need for urgent discussions on the situation in the UN Security Council.

US President Donald Trump announced the start of a large-scale military operation against Iran, stating that it is necessary to eliminate the threat. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also confirmed that the operation is aimed at eliminating an "existential threat" to Israel.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry accused the US and Israel of violating the UN Charter, noting that the facilities of these countries in the region could become legitimate targets for retaliatory actions.

Some Middle Eastern countries expressed their concern over the escalation. Saudi Arabia condemned the Iranian strikes on facilities in Gulf countries and confirmed support for its allies.

Canada also supported the actions of the US, pointing to the necessity of preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.

Spain called for an immediate cessation of hostilities, while Norway expressed doubts about the legality of preventive attacks.

Oman expressed regret over the escalation of the conflict, noting that it occurred against the backdrop of diplomatic efforts to resolve the situation.

The situation in the region remains tense, and the international community continues to call for restraint and a return to diplomatic negotiations.
