A number of countries urged citizens and diplomats to leave Iran and Israel
According to Reuters, on February 27, the United Kingdom temporarily withdrew its staff from Iran and closed its embassy, citing unfavorable security conditions. On the same day, the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs advised its citizens in Iran without "strict necessity" to leave the country and to exercise particular caution throughout the Middle East, emphasizing the need for vigilance among Italians in Israel.
At the same time, various sources report that Poland is urging its citizens to leave Iran, Israel, and Lebanon immediately, warning of potential restrictions on civil aviation.
Australia is also recommending that the spouses and children of diplomats in Israel and Lebanon leave these countries; citizens are advised to consider departing while commercial flights are still available.
The United States is also withdrawing part of its personnel and the families of diplomats from the region: earlier reports indicated the withdrawal of non-essential staff from the embassy in Lebanon, as well as "permitted departures" for non-emergency personnel and their families from Israel, as noted by several media outlets.
Similar recommendations and statements have been made by the embassies of Canada, China, and India.
