
As reported by MiddleAsianNews, a meeting took place in London between the Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources of Mongolia, Damdinnyam Gongor, and the Minister of Industry of the United Kingdom, Chris MacDonald.
During the event, the parties agreed to establish a joint working group of the ministries, which will be part of the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding in the mining sector, signed in 2024 between Mongolia and the United Kingdom.

Additionally, the parties agreed to explore opportunities for collaboration in areas such as conducting geological surveys in Mongolia, financing exploration work, data exchange, and training personnel.
The Minister also met with parliamentarians on issues of mineral resources cooperation in the UK
Damdinnyam Gongor, the Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, met with James Wild, the chairman of the parliamentary group for relations between the UK and Mongolia, Baroness Northover, and other members of parliament.

During the discussion, the issue of expanding cooperation in the field of mineral resources was considered, as well as support for investments and technology exchange within the framework of sustainable development.
The parties noted the importance of joint work in the exploration, extraction, and processing of strategically important minerals, emphasizing the need to adhere to environmental standards and social responsibility.
Minister Gongor presented the government policy of Mongolia in the field of industry and mineral resources, after which the parties discussed ways to enhance inter-parliamentary cooperation and support for major mining initiatives.
