The London Stock Exchange opens new horizons for the Mongolian mining sector, which will create conditions for attracting billions of dollars for the development of new deposits, reports MiddleAsianNews.
After registering on the London Stock Exchange, Mongolian mining companies will be able to actively attract capital, creating new opportunities for investment and resource development.
The Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources of Mongolia, Damdinnyam Gongor, held a working meeting in the UK with the CEO of the London Stock Exchange, Julia Ann Hoggett. During the discussions, the parties addressed issues related to the registration of Mongolian companies on the exchange, attracting investments, and expanding financial instruments for the mining sector in Mongolia. The minister reported this on his Facebook page.
Additionally, an agreement was reached to use the stock market for transferring shares in mining projects through the Wealth Fund, while improving financial literacy among citizens and exploring opportunities for cooperation in electronic trading platforms.
The London Stock Exchange, founded in 1801, is one of the leading exchanges in the world, listing shares of over 1,000 companies from more than 60 countries with a total market capitalization exceeding $6 trillion. The mining sector accounts for approximately $700 billion of this capitalization.
The entry of Mongolian mining companies onto the London Stock Exchange will create new opportunities for attracting billions of dollars in investments, which will enhance the international status of Mongolian projects and open new financial prospects for both the industry and the population of Mongolia.
