The creation of new parks and the expansion of green zones were discussed at a meeting with the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, as reported by the press service of the head of state.
Tashkent has demonstrated dynamic economic development and population growth in recent years, which has already exceeded 3.1 million people. According to forecasts, by 2045, the population may more than double, necessitating appropriate urbanization that takes into account the load on the housing stock, transport and engineering networks, as well as social infrastructure.
During the meeting, the results of an analysis of 85 construction projects covering an area of over 2.6 hectares were presented. Attention was drawn to the compliance of the projects with urban planning standards and the importance of creating green zones that occupy at least 30% of the total built-up area.
As a result of the discussion, it was proposed to approve 18 projects, while 12 of them require further development with changes to the area of the plots, number of floors, and concepts. 54 projects are subject to revision.
Plans for the expansion of the special industrial zone "Yangi Avlod," located in the Yangihayot district, were also considered. The necessity of a phased relocation of large industries from the center of the capital and the placement of environmentally friendly enterprises with high added value was emphasized.
According to representatives of the city administration, the implementation of these initiatives will allow for an annual increase in gross regional product by 1.5 billion dollars, while budget revenues will exceed 3.5 trillion sums (approximately 287.3 million dollars). Additionally, 260,000 new jobs will be created.
Concluding the report, Mirziyoyev emphasized that funds from infrastructure payments should be directed towards the creation of new green areas, while the remaining funds should be allocated for the development of urban infrastructure.
