In 10 days, the XIV Winter Paralympic Games will kick off in Italy, in Milan and Cortina.
Four of our athletes will participate in the competitions, competing in three different disciplines. Ganbold Batmunkh and Dashdorj Tsegmid will compete in men's cross-country skiing events of 10 and 20 kilometers, while Tserenpuntsag Biyambadorj will participate in alpine skiing competitions, and Selenge Adiyaamunkh will compete in women's cross-country skiing. Currently, the athletes are training at the Baga Bayan sports complex, which is managed by the Ministry of Defense.
The Mongolian team first participated in the Paralympic Games in 2006 in Turin. This will be the sixth time our athletes will head to the Winter Paralympic Games.

Selenge will make her debut at the Paralympic Games, while for Dashdorj and Tserenpuntsag, these competitions will be their second, and Ganbold will participate for the fourth time.
Selenge became the first woman from Mongolia to qualify for the Paralympic Games. She secured her spot by winning a bronze medal at the Asian Cup in cross-country skiing in Japan this year. The gold medal was won by Chinese skier Shang Yilin, and the silver by Japanese athlete Sato Nana.
The XIV Winter Paralympic Games will start on March 6 and will last for nine days. A total of 665 athletes will compete for 79 medals in six different sports. The opening ceremony will take place at the Verona Arena (Arena di Verona) — an ancient Roman amphitheater in Verona.
