
As a result of heavy rains that hit the state of Minas Gerais in Brazil, 30 people have died, and another 39 citizens are reported missing. This information was provided by the Report agency based on data from CNN Brasil.
The continuous rains have caused flooding and landslides in the region, with the cities of Juiz de Fora and Ubá being particularly affected. Approximately 440 people have been left homeless, and 13 individuals were rescued from destroyed buildings. A total of 208 affected individuals have received assistance, and they are currently receiving medical care.
Brazil's Vice President Geraldo Alckmin announced that the country's armed forces have been deployed to assist those affected, including helicopters and military equipment. According to the Metrópoles portal, those who have lost their homes will receive initial financial aid of 800 Brazilian reais (approximately $155). These funds will be allocated to local authorities for the purchase of mattresses, clothing, and food supplies.
