In Kazakhstan, two transgender individuals are suspected of intentionally infecting others with HIV

In Atyrau, Kazakhstan, officers from the Organized Crime Control Department of the Police Department arrested two men aged 23 and 28. They are suspected of intentionally infecting others with HIV.
According to information provided by the police, both suspects were aware of their HIV diagnosis since December 2025 and were under medical supervision. Nevertheless, they continued to offer paid intimate services under the guise of transgender individuals.

The police clarified: "A criminal case has been initiated regarding the infection of another person with HIV by an individual who was aware of their condition."
The case is related to the accusation of infecting another person with HIV while knowing about their own illness. The maximum penalty for this is 10 years of imprisonment.

The suspects are in a temporary detention facility, and the investigation is actively determining the number of victims and all details of the case. Every circumstance will be carefully assessed from a legal standpoint.
