
On February 23, 2026, a meeting took place in Doha between the Ambassador of Mongolia to Kuwait, Seregelan Purev, and Badr Al-Darwish, the President of the Qatar Equestrian Federation and Modern Pentathlon. During the meeting, Ambassador Purev spoke about traditional Mongolian horse racing and various aspects of equestrian sports. The possibilities for cooperation and experience exchange in these areas were discussed. Additionally, he informed Al-Darwish about the resolution adopted by the UN General Assembly, initiated by the President of Mongolia, to establish a "World Horse Day." The ambassador invited representatives from Qatar, who supported this resolution, to participate in the World Equestrian Festival scheduled for July 11-13.

Badr Al-Darwish, President of the Qatar Equestrian Federation and Modern Pentathlon, emphasized that Qatar holds a leading position in equestrian sports and the organization of international competitions in the region. He expressed readiness to cooperate with Mongolia, including athlete exchanges, joint training, and hosting competitions. Al-Darwish also stated his intention to personally participate in the event dedicated to "World Horse Day."
