Beate Dastel, the newly appointed UNICEF Permanent Representative, recently presented her credentials in Mongolia. This information was published on the official Facebook page of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia.

On this significant day, February 23, Beate Dastel presented her credentials to the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mönkhtushig Lkhanaajav, thus officially commencing her duties in her new position.

The State Secretary Mönkhtushig noted the significant contribution of UNICEF over the years of its work in Mongolia, especially in the areas of socio-economic development, child rights protection, and support for their growth. He expressed satisfaction with the fruitful cooperation that has contributed to improving maternal and child health, expanding access to education, strengthening social protection, and ensuring the rights of the most vulnerable groups of children.

Beate Dastel confirmed that UNICEF will continue its successful activities in Mongolia and expressed readiness for further development of cooperation aimed at improving the living conditions of children in the country.

Of Austrian nationality, Beate Dastel has experience in international development and strategic planning. Prior to her appointment in Mongolia, she served as the Permanent Representative in Djibouti and previously worked as the Deputy Permanent Representative in Laos and Bhutan, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
